Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 4–6 tea bags (depending on your strength preference)
- Ice cubes
- Optional sweeteners (honey, sugar, agave syrup)
- Optional fruit or herbs for flavoring (lemon, mint, berries, peach, etc.)
Instructions
- Bring 4 cups of water to a boil, then remove from heat.
- Add the tea bags to the hot water and let them steep for 4-5 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.
- If you prefer sweet tea, add sweetener while the tea is still hot, stirring to dissolve. Adjust sweetness to taste.
- Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then place it in the fridge for at least 1 hour to chill.
- Once chilled, pour the tea into glasses filled with ice cubes. Garnish with lemon slices, fresh mint, or fruit for added flavor.
- Serve and enjoy your homemade iced tea!
Notes
- For a stronger tea flavor, use more tea bags or steep the tea for a few extra minutes.
- If you’d like a fizzy iced tea, mix with sparkling water just before serving.
- Freeze some tea in ice cube trays to avoid diluting the flavor as the ice melts.
- For a sugar-free option, use natural sweeteners like stevia or enjoy your iced tea without sweetener.
- You can use loose leaf tea by placing it in a tea infuser or strainer during the steeping process.
