Description

All the flavors of a cheeseburger combined in a creamy, cheesy pasta dish made effortlessly in one pan for a quick and satisfying comfort meal perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 8 oz uncooked pasta (elbow or rotini)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup milk or cream
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional Toppings

  • Pickles
  • Ketchup drizzle

Instructions

  1. Brown the beef and onions: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is fully browned and onions are softened. Drain any excess fat to keep the dish from being greasy.
  2. Add broth, tomatoes, and pasta: Pour in the beef broth and canned diced tomatoes (with juices), then stir in the uncooked pasta. Bring the mixture to a boil to start cooking the pasta.
  3. Simmer until pasta is tender: Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let it simmer gently for 10–12 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking until the pasta is tender.
  4. Stir in cheese and milk: Once the pasta is cooked, add the shredded cheddar cheese and milk or cream to the skillet. Stir thoroughly until the cheese melts into a creamy sauce coating the pasta and beef.
  5. Season and serve hot: Taste the dish and season with salt and pepper as desired. Serve immediately with optional pickles or a drizzle of ketchup to enhance the cheeseburger flavor.

Notes

  • For a more authentic cheeseburger flavor, add a teaspoon of mustard or Worcestershire sauce when cooking the beef.
  • Use ground turkey instead of beef for a lighter, leaner version of this dish.
