Mini Sausage Stuffing Cups are a fun and flavorful twist on classic stuffing. Made in a muffin tin, these bite-sized cups combine savory sausage, bread, herbs, and veggies into the ultimate holiday appetizer or side dish.
Ingredients
Ground Sausage:
- 1 lb mild or spicy ground sausage
Vegetables:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Herbs and Seasonings:
- 1 teaspoon dried sage (or 1 tablespoon fresh)
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 tablespoon fresh)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Bread and Liquid:
- 4 cups cubed day-old bread (white or sourdough)
- 1 ½ cups chicken or turkey broth
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin tin.
- Cook Sausage: Brown sausage in a skillet over medium heat. Transfer to a bowl.
- Sauté Vegetables: In the same skillet, sauté onion and celery until softened. Add garlic, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Combine Ingredients: Add vegetables to sausage, mix in bread cubes. Pour in broth, add beaten egg and parsley.
- Fill Muffin Tin: Scoop stuffing mixture into muffin tin, press gently to compact.
- Bake: Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Serve: Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
