Description

This creamy garlic chicken breast recipe features tender chicken breasts cooked in a rich, creamy garlic sauce with Jack cheese, garnished with green onions and paprika. It’s a simple yet flavorful dish perfect for busy weeknights or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 34 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup shredded Jack cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 23 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions and paprika for topping

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a simmer. Let it reduce for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Stir in the sour cream and cook for another 2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon some sauce over them. Sprinkle the shredded Jack cheese on top.
  8. Cover the skillet and cook for another 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the chicken is heated through.
  9. Garnish with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of paprika before serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to swap the Jack cheese with mozzarella, cheddar, or Parmesan for a different flavor.
  • For added flavor, you can incorporate vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers into the sauce.
  • For a low-carb version, serve over sautéed spinach, cauliflower rice, or zucchini noodles.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat with a little broth or milk if the sauce thickens too much.
  • This dish pairs well with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, steamed broccoli, or a simple side salad.
