Description
Creamy Beef and Mushroom Pasta is a rich and comforting dish made with tender ground beef, earthy mushrooms, and a velvety cream sauce. Perfectly paired with pasta, this dish is a delicious, satisfying meal that’s easy to prepare and full of flavor.
Ingredients
- 12 oz pasta (such as fettuccine or penne)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain any excess fat.
- Add diced onion and garlic to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened and fragrant.
- Stir in sliced mushrooms and cook for an additional 5 minutes, until the mushrooms are tender and browned.
- Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the liquid to reduce slightly.
- Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for another 5 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes creamy.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat in the creamy sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water to reach the desired consistency.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine to the skillet after cooking the mushrooms and let it reduce before adding the cream.
- You can use ground turkey or chicken as a lighter alternative to beef.
- Top with additional Parmesan cheese or crushed red pepper flakes for a little extra kick.
