Description

Creamy Beef and Mushroom Pasta is a rich and comforting dish made with tender ground beef, earthy mushrooms, and a velvety cream sauce. Perfectly paired with pasta, this dish is a delicious, satisfying meal that’s easy to prepare and full of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta (such as fettuccine or penne)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add diced onion and garlic to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  4. Stir in sliced mushrooms and cook for an additional 5 minutes, until the mushrooms are tender and browned.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the liquid to reduce slightly.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for another 5 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes creamy.
  7. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat in the creamy sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water to reach the desired consistency.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine to the skillet after cooking the mushrooms and let it reduce before adding the cream.
  • You can use ground turkey or chicken as a lighter alternative to beef.
  • Top with additional Parmesan cheese or crushed red pepper flakes for a little extra kick.
