Description
Cinnamon Banana Bites are a quick and healthy snack made with ripe bananas, cinnamon, and coconut oil, offering a warm and sweet treat that’s perfect for any time of the day.
Ingredients
- 2 ripe but firm bananas
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Peel the bananas and slice them into rounds, about ½ inch thick.
- In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt together. Set aside.
- In a non-stick skillet, heat the melted coconut oil over medium heat.
- Add the banana slices to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and slightly caramelized. Be careful not to overcook them, as they can become too soft.
- Once the banana slices are cooked, sprinkle them with the cinnamon-sugar mixture, tossing gently to coat evenly.
- Serve the cinnamon banana bites immediately, either on their own or as a topping for oatmeal or yogurt.
Notes
- Add chopped walnuts or almonds to the cinnamon-sugar mixture for a nutty crunch.
- For a vegan version, replace granulated sugar with maple syrup for a more natural sweetness.
- For a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or ground ginger to the cinnamon sugar.
