Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let sit 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, mix yeast mixture, warm milk, sugar, melted butter, salt, and egg. Gradually add flour, kneading into a soft dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Punch down dough and roll to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut donut shapes and place on parchment-lined tray.
- Flatten each donut, place a mini peanut butter cup in the center, and pinch dough around it to seal.
- Cover donuts and let rise 30-45 minutes.
- Frying: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry 1-2 minutes per side until golden. Drain on paper towels. Baking: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake 12-15 minutes until golden.
- For glaze, melt chocolate chips with butter and cream. Stir until smooth and add vanilla extract.
- Dip cooled donuts in glaze and top with crushed peanuts or sprinkles. Allow glaze to set before serving.

- Substitute peanut butter cups with caramel, Nutella, or jelly for variety.
- Use a gluten-free flour blend if needed, adjusting liquids accordingly.
