Description

Chocolate Mousse Brownies are an indulgent dessert that combines rich, fudgy brownies with a layer of light and creamy chocolate mousse, creating the ultimate chocolate lover’s treat.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for mousse)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. Beat in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder until well combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Let cool completely.
  5. For the mousse, heat 1 cup of heavy cream in a small saucepan until just about to boil. Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup chocolate chips until smooth.
  6. Let chocolate mixture cool to room temperature. In a separate bowl, whip remaining cream until stiff peaks form.
  7. Gently fold whipped cream into the cooled chocolate mixture until fully combined and fluffy.
  8. Spread mousse evenly over the cooled brownies. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set.
  9. Cut into squares and serve chilled.

  • Top with shaved chocolate or cocoa powder for a decorative finish.
