Description
Chicken Parmesan Sliders are a fun, bite-sized twist on the classic Chicken Parmesan. Crispy chicken cutlets, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella, all tucked into soft slider buns, make these sliders a crowd-pleaser for parties, game days, or weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into small cutlets)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)
- 2 large eggs (beaten)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably Italian-style)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup olive oil (for frying)
- 12 slider buns
- 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh basil (chopped, for garnish)
- Optional: Additional grated Parmesan cheese for topping
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken: Slice the chicken breasts into thin cutlets. Season with salt and pepper.
- Breading the chicken: Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and a mixture of breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Dredge the chicken cutlets in the flour, dip in the eggs, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Frying the chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the breaded chicken for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
- Assemble the sliders: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice slider buns. Place one chicken cutlet on each bottom half of a bun. Spoon marinara sauce over the chicken, then top with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake the sliders: Arrange the sliders on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Garnish with chopped basil and additional Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve hot with extra marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
- For a spicy version, add red pepper flakes to the marinara sauce.
- For a vegetarian version, replace chicken with eggplant slices.
- These sliders can be made healthier by baking the chicken cutlets instead of frying them.
- You can freeze assembled sliders before baking. Just wrap them tightly and bake when ready, adding a few extra minutes.
