Description

Cheesy Ranch Fries are crispy, seasoned fries topped with a creamy cheese sauce and tangy ranch dressing. This indulgent snack or side dish is perfect for parties, movie nights, or as a savory treat.

Ingredients

  • 2832 oz frozen French fries
  • 1 ½ teaspoons brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons ranch dressing, plus more for dipping
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • ⅔ cup milk
  • 2 cups medium cheddar cheese, freshly shredded

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven according to the frozen fries package instructions. Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake according to package directions, about 20-25 minutes, until golden and crispy.
  2. While the fries bake, mix the brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  3. Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and immediately toss them in the seasoning mixture. Drizzle with 4 tablespoons of ranch dressing and toss again.
  4. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk for about 1 minute until smooth. Gradually add the milk, continuing to whisk, and cook for 2-3 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.
  5. Lower the heat, add the shredded cheddar cheese, and stir until fully melted and the sauce is smooth. If too thick, add more milk to adjust the consistency.
  6. Place the seasoned fries on a serving dish and drizzle the cheese sauce generously over them.
  7. Serve immediately with extra ranch dressing on the side for dipping. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add cayenne pepper or chili flakes to the seasoning mixture.
  • Try different cheeses like Monterey Jack or pepper jack for a different flavor profile.
  • Top the fries with crispy beef bits, chopped green onions, or cilantro for extra texture and flavor.
