Description

Cheese Herb Garlic Quick Bread is a savory, flavorful bread that’s easy to make and packed with melted cheese, fragrant herbs, and garlic. Perfect for a snack, side dish, or serving with soups.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried parsley)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 teaspoon garlic powder)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for greasing the pan)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with olive oil or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, oregano, and thyme until well combined.
  3. Add cheese and herbs: Stir in the grated cheese and fresh parsley (or dried parsley). Ensure the cheese and herbs are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  4. Mix wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and egg until smooth. Add the minced garlic and mix.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are fine.
  6. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool and serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Cheese options: You can use mozzarella, gouda, or Parmesan for different flavors. For a stronger cheese flavor, try blue cheese or sharp cheddar.
  • Spicy version: Add red pepper flakes or jalapeños for a spicy kick.
  • Extra garlic: Add more garlic for an intense flavor.
