Instructions
- Activate Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy, indicating the yeast is activated.
- Mix Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and melted butter. Mix well until a dough begins to form.
- Knead Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead vigorously for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. This develops the gluten for a soft, airy texture.
- First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a clean cloth or plastic wrap. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Shape Rolls with Cheese: Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Flatten each portion and place a cube or some shredded cheese in the center. Fold the dough over the cheese and shape each into a round roll.
- Second Rise: Arrange the rolls on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover loosely and let them rise for an additional 30 minutes to become puffy.
- Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown on top and cooked through.
