Description
This Caramelized White Russian adds a decadent twist to the classic cocktail with a rich caramel flavor and creamy finish. Smooth, indulgent, and perfect for fall or holiday sipping, it’s an elegant dessert-style drink that’s surprisingly simple to make, combining vodka, coffee liqueur, and a luscious caramel base for a beautifully layered experience.
Ingredients
Caramel Base:
- 1–2 tbsp caramel sauce (plus extra for the glass)
Cocktail:
- Ice
- 2 oz vodka
- 1 oz coffee liqueur (Kahlúa or similar)
- 2 oz half-and-half (or heavy cream for richer texture)
Optional Garnishes:
- Extra caramel drizzle
- Whipped cream
- Cinnamon or nutmeg sprinkle
Instructions
- Prepare the Glass: Drizzle caramel sauce inside a lowball glass to coat the sides, adding a beautiful caramel swirl and extra flavor. Then add ice to fill the glass.
- Add Spirits: Pour 2 ounces of vodka followed by 1 ounce of coffee liqueur over the ice, layering the base of the cocktail.
- Pour Cream: Slowly pour 2 ounces of half-and-half (or heavy cream) over the top of the drink to create a layered, creamy effect.
- Combine: Stir gently to blend the flavors just before drinking, ensuring the caramel and coffee notes meld with the cream.
- Garnish: If desired, top with an extra caramel drizzle, a dollop of whipped cream, or a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg for added aroma and visual appeal.
Notes
- For a caramel latte twist, add 1–2 tbsp cold brew coffee before adding the cream to infuse deeper coffee flavors.
- Dairy-Free option: Substitute half-and-half or heavy cream with coconut cream or oat creamer to suit dietary restrictions.
- Make it a “Caramel Snickerdoodle” by adding a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg before stirring to incorporate warm spice notes.
