Fresh Figs:

  • 68 fresh figs (halved)

Unsalted Butter:

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter

Brown Sugar:

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar (or honey)

Balsamic Vinegar:

  • 1 tsp balsamic vinegar (optional, for depth)

Honey:

  • 2 tbsp honey (for drizzling)

Thyme or Mint Leaves:

  • Fresh thyme or mint leaves (for garnish)

Sea Salt:

  • Pinch of flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Toast bread: Lightly toast bread slices until golden and crisp. Set aside.
  2. Caramelize figs: In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add figs, cut side down, sprinkle with brown sugar, and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened and caramelized. Deglaze with balsamic vinegar if using.
  3. Assemble toast: Spread a generous layer of ricotta onto each slice of toast.
  4. Top: Arrange caramelized figs over ricotta. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with thyme or mint.
  5. Finish: Add a pinch of flaky sea salt. Serve immediately.
