Description

A quick and healthy Asian-inspired stir fry featuring tender chicken breast and crisp broccoli florets tossed in a flavorful garlic soy and oyster sauce, finished with a touch of honey for sweetness and garnished with sesame seeds.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless chicken breast, sliced thin
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons oil (vegetable or canola oil recommended)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Sauce Ingredients

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water

Garnish

  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the pan: Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat to prepare for stir frying.
  2. Cook the chicken: Add the thinly sliced chicken breast and cook, stirring intermittently, until browned on the outside and nearly cooked through, about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and broccoli: Stir in the minced garlic and broccoli florets, stir frying together for 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender-crisp and the garlic is fragrant.
  4. Mix in sauces and honey: Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce, and honey; stir well to evenly coat the chicken and broccoli.
  5. Add cornstarch slurry: Whisk together 1 teaspoon cornstarch and 2 tablespoons water to create a slurry; add this to the skillet and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens to a glossy consistency.
  6. Garnish and serve: Remove from heat and sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the dish before serving hot, ideally with steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Feel free to add other vegetables such as carrots, bell peppers, or snow peas for additional color and nutrition.
  • This dish pairs perfectly with steamed rice or your choice of noodles for a complete meal.
  • Adjust the amount of honey according to your preferred sweetness level.
  • For a gluten-free option, substitute soy sauce with tamari.
