Description

Biscuits and Gravy Casserole is a hearty, comforting Southern-inspired breakfast dish made with layers of fluffy biscuits, savory sausage gravy, and eggs. It’s perfect for feeding a crowd at brunch or holiday mornings.

Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz) can refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cut biscuits into quarters and spread them evenly in the prepared dish.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and crumbled. Do not drain all the fat.
  4. Sprinkle flour over sausage, stirring to coat. Cook for 1 minute.
  5. Gradually whisk in milk and cook until gravy thickens, about 5–7 minutes. Stir in salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Remove from heat.
  6. In a bowl, whisk eggs and pour evenly over the biscuits in the dish.
  7. Pour sausage gravy over the eggs and biscuits.
  8. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  9. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, or until eggs are set and biscuits are golden.
  10. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use spicy sausage for extra flavor.
  • Make ahead by assembling the night before and refrigerating, then baking in the morning.
  • Serve with hot sauce for a Southern touch.
