Description

Bang Bang Salmon is a flavorful, crispy salmon dish topped with a creamy, spicy sauce. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a special occasion.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Green onions (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels, then season them with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon fillets skin-side down and cook for about 3 minutes, until the skin is crispy. Flip the salmon and cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. Transfer the salmon fillets to a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the salmon is fully cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  5. While the salmon is baking, prepare the Bang Bang sauce by whisking together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, rice vinegar, honey, and sesame oil in a bowl. Adjust the level of spice by adding more sriracha, if desired.
  6. Once the salmon is cooked, remove it from the oven and drizzle the Bang Bang sauce generously over the top.
  7. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds for a finishing touch.
  8. Serve immediately with steamed rice or vegetables of your choice.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add more sriracha or red pepper flakes.
  • Use gluten-free mayonnaise and sauces if following a gluten-free diet.
  • Air fry the salmon at 375°F for 10-12 minutes for a quicker and crispier result.
  • The Bang Bang sauce can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • If using frozen salmon, be sure to thaw it completely before cooking.
