Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into small strips or bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 3 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 6–8 slider buns
- Fresh lettuce (optional)
- Pickles (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken: In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.
- Coat the chicken: Dip each chicken strip first in the flour mixture, then in the beaten eggs, and finally coat it in the panko breadcrumbs. Repeat for all chicken pieces.
- Fry the chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot (about 350°F/175°C), carefully fry the chicken in batches, cooking for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove the chicken from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Make the Bang Bang sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, rice vinegar, and honey until smooth and creamy. Adjust the amount of sriracha to your desired spice level.
- Assemble the sliders: Lightly toast the slider buns in the oven or on a grill. Spread a generous amount of the Bang Bang sauce on the bottom half of each slider bun. Add a few pieces of crispy chicken on top, followed by lettuce and pickles, if desired. Drizzle more Bang Bang sauce over the chicken for extra flavor.
- Serve: Top with the other half of the bun, and your Bang Bang Chicken Sliders are ready to serve!
Notes
- Spicy version: Add more sriracha or chili flakes to the Bang Bang sauce for an extra kick of heat.
- Grilled chicken: For a lighter version, grill the chicken strips instead of frying them for a healthier option.
- Add cheese: Place a slice of cheese (like cheddar or provolone) on top of the chicken for a cheesy twist.
- Vegetarian option: Use crispy fried cauliflower or a plant-based chicken substitute instead of chicken for a vegetarian version of the sliders.
- Crispy coating: For an extra crispy texture, use a mixture of panko breadcrumbs and crushed cornflakes.
