Description

Fresh, crisp, and lightly sweet — this Apple Pear Slaw combines crunchy cabbage with juicy apples and pears, tossed in a bright honey-lemon dressing. A perfect fall or winter side dish for sandwiches, soups, and holiday meals!

Ingredients

Slaw:

  • 3 cups shredded green cabbage (or coleslaw mix)
  • 1 apple, thinly sliced or julienned (Honeycrisp recommended)
  • 1 pear, thinly sliced or julienned
  • ¼ cup dried cranberries
  • ¼ cup sliced almonds or pumpkin seeds

Dressing:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • ½ tsp Dijon mustard
  • Salt & black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients. Place cabbage, apple, pear, cranberries, and almonds in a large bowl.
  2. Make the dressing. In a small bowl, whisk olive oil, lemon juice, honey/maple syrup, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Toss the slaw. Pour dressing over the slaw mixture and toss thoroughly to coat all ingredients evenly.
  4. Serve or chill. Serve immediately for a crisp texture or chill for 10–15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld beautifully.

Notes

  • For extra crunch: add sunflower seeds or toasted pecans.
  • Make ahead: store separate components; toss just before serving.
  • Add protein: grilled chicken or chickpeas turn this into a meal.
  • Vegan: use maple syrup instead of honey.
