Description

Apple Cinnamon Bread is a soft, moist quick bread filled with tender apple pieces and warm cinnamon spice. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or an afternoon snack, this cozy loaf tastes like fall in every slice.

Ingredients

Bread

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups peeled and diced apples

Cinnamon Swirl (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare pan: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Combine dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon until evenly mixed.
  3. Mix wet ingredients: In a separate large bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil (or melted butter), eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and well incorporated.
  4. Combine wet and dry mixtures: Gradually stir the dry ingredient mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread tender.
  5. Fold in apples: Gently fold in the peeled and diced apples ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  6. Layer batter and add cinnamon swirl: Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top if using for a swirl effect.
  7. Add remaining batter and swirl: Pour the remaining batter over the cinnamon-sugar layer. Use a knife to gently swirl the cinnamon sugar into the batter to create a marbled effect.
  8. Bake: Place the loaf pan in the oven and bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, ensuring the bread is fully cooked.
  9. Cool the bread: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 to 15 minutes to set before transferring it to a wire rack. Cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Use firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith for best texture and flavor.
  • If the top of the bread browns too quickly during baking, tent it loosely with foil to prevent overbrowning.
  • This bread is delicious served warm with butter or cream cheese for extra richness.
